Who We Are …

Our History

In 2007, a small group of friends from Kerala living in Exton decided to celebrate Onam together with family. Slowly, the number of friends increased every year and a small hall Onam celebrations grew into a big Onam event. The enthusiasm and spirit among the group of friends were so high, all of them met on other occasions too - summer beach trips, kids sports events, volleyball matches, christmas caroling, New year celebrations ... The friends and families decided to give their group a name - Exton Malayali Association (E.M.A) and they wholeheartedly welcomed any new Malayalis nearby.

EMA - Exton Malayali Association is a non-profit organization. The official inauguration of the association was in September 2021 along with our Onam celebrations.

EMA is one among the largest Malayali Associations having members from Exton, Malvern and suburbs of Chester County. EMA carries forward the cultural heritage and traditional values of Kerala among the people. Most importantly, EMA instills our tradition and values in our younger generation, who are growing in a land far away from Kerala. Indian Independence Day, Onam, family picnic, kids events, New Year celebrations are some of the events we celebrate every year.
